L’ultimo annuncio della World Photography Organisation prima della cerimonia di gala, e quindi dell’incoronazione del vincitore dell’Iris d’Or e di ogni singolo vincitore della categoria Professional, è quello relativo alle categorie Open e Youth.
La categoria Open è composta come sempre da 10 differenti sezioni quali Architecture, Arts and Culture, Enhanced, Low Light, Nature & Wildlife, Panoramic, People, Smile, Split Second, and Travel; Youth, la categoria per fotografi tra i 12 e i 19 anni, ne sono dedicate 3: Culture, Environment, and Portraits.
